Letters From Mrs. Adams
May 9, 2008
Dear Parents,
Wow, where has the time gone! I can't believe how close we are to the end of another school year. 13 more days left, hard to believe! We have been very busy here lately and it doesn't seem to be slowing down.
In Reading, we are in our last theme in our reading series. In this theme we have read about animal encounters. We read about grizzly bears and golden lion tamarains. It was very interesting to learn about the habitats and lifestyles of these two animals.
In Math, we just took a test on multiplication and division of fractions. I was impressed with how well everyone worked on this new concept and didn't give up. Our next chapter deals with multiplication and division of decimals.
In English, we are learning about adverbs and prepositions. We are learning the difference between adjectives, prepositions, and adverbs and also prepositional phrases.
In Religion, we are in charge of Mass next week. This will be our last Mass we are in charge of. We also have been learning about God's Graces and professing our faith.
On Thursday, we had the opportunity to head out to Art and Barb Straub's woods to go on a nature hike and do an art project. It has been so nice to have their help this school year and Robin Grothe's also for setting up all these wonderful opportunities. So a big thank you to Robin and the Straub's.
On May 14 we have a two hour late start and on May 15 we are heading with the fourth grade class to Farm America near Waseca. Thank you so much for filling out so many permission slips and getting them back on time. I apologize for the amount but it is required by the school to have them each time we leave the school grounds. So THANK YOU for being on top of this!
Please remember that the fifth graders will be graduating on May 29 at 7 pm. Kristan has sent home information about the reception so please be thinking of how you can help out. Thank you!
Have a great weekend,
Sarah Adams
