This Week's News from First Grade

Highlights from this week:

  • Monday = Mrs. Wolf taught us all day! In religion we talked about the beautiful thinks God has created, colored a picture of nature and read our readings to Mrs. Wolf. In Math we did problem-solving investigation and we also had phy.ed. with Mrs. Wavrin.
  • Tuesday = Father was called away so we did a prayer service instead mass but we still got to do our readings! Mrs. Wolf and Mrs. Segna thought we did an excellent job. We had music with Mrs. Miller and are practicing our Christmas songs for the Christmas program. We worked on subtracting 10, 11 and 12 in math. In social we added things in our classroom to a classroom picture.
  • Wednesday = It was a short morning, we had a two hour late start. In Religion we talked about how God created people. In math we worked with vertical subtraction. We also had phy.ed. with Mrs. Wavrin.
  • Thursday = In religion we did our Promise magazine. In math we did our chapter review test. We also finished a page for science matching the parts of a seed with the correct label.
  • Friday = We discussed a consequence for being loud in the lunchroom. Mrs. Hammer spoke to us about our responsibility to help those not as fortunate as we, about our adopted El Salvadoran friend Rosa and we prayed the rosary together. We solved story problems in math using subtraction. We made birthday cards for Timothy and enjoyed his birthday cupcakes! We also had phy.ed. with Mrs. Wavrin.
Notes for Next Week:
