Dear Kindergarten Parents:
This marks the last Kindergarten Newsletter for the school year. This upcoming week will not be very busy with academic activities. As the year comes to a close, we have covered nearly everything that I wanted to, and we have several other events going on throughout the week. Here is a look at the week ahead:
- Reading and Language Arts: We will take a unit test. The students will also be working on their printing skills, if time permits.
- Math: We will take our final test on Monday. I have a few practice worksheets for the students to do. I also have a few games planned. We’ll see what we have time for!
- Religion: We will talk about how Jesus is with us when we celebrate God’s love. We will be attending mass on Tuesday.
- I also have a few art projects planned. Again, we’ll see what we have time for!
- Talent Show: The talent show is on Tuesday. The kindergarten class will perform a song. If you would like to come see us, the show begins at 1:00.
- Awards Day: Awards Day is on Wednesday. The kindergarteners will be getting a special certificate for completing kindergarten. We would love it if you would join us for treats after the awards presentation. We will pick them up in the lunchroom, and then bring them back to the classroom.
Other Thoughts:
- There will be no Show and Tell this week, as Thursday is our last day.
- Thank you so very much to all of you who have contributed to the play-doh basket for the golf open. It looks fantastic!
- I will be completing the movie of the school year hopefully over the weekend. If you have any pictures that you would still like to email to me, please do so by Sunday! Thanks to those of you who have given me pictures already. It’s going to be a really fun movie. I will be burning DVDs for each student. We will view it on Thursday in class.
- Report cards will be coming home on Thursday. They are yours to keep!
- Class of 2020: Hopefully you remember when I explained that your children would have their picture in the Mankato Free Press, answering the question, “What would you like to be when you grow up, and why?” The paper’s official publish date is on Saturday, May 24, but I have the copies now! There are many other kindergarten classrooms from the area in the issue. Our picture and responses can be found on page 23.
- Behavior Sheets: I will not be filling out behavior sheets for the upcoming week. It has been very difficult to keep up with them since we have such a busy schedule during these last few days. I will still do color changes, as usual. If there are any concerns that I want you to know about, I will contact you.
- Uniforms: A few of you have asked if the students needed to wear uniforms next week. Mrs. Segna said they should wear them, just as usual.
- Sweatshirts: I have two sweatshirts here that have not been claimed. One is a size 10/12 with no tag and no name. The other is a size 6/8 with the name Nate Eide on it. Do these belong to you? Let me know if they do!
Thank you so much for the helping my first year of teaching at St. Anne’s to be such a positive experience for me! Thank you for allowing me to teach your children! I know that I will never forget them – they were my first real class, after all! Thank you for all of your support that you have given me throughout the year! What a blessing this school year has been!
Enjoy the long weekend! See you on Tuesday!
Sincerely,
Miss May
