Dear Kindergarten Parents:

What a fantastic day we had for the marathon! Thank you to all of you for your hard work that you put in getting those pledges! We have a very busy week ahead of us. Here is a peek:

  • Reading and Language Arts: We will be studying the letter M this week. Our Alphafriend is Mimi Mouse. Look for her lyrics in the take-home folder on Monday. We will add a new word to our word wall on Tuesday: see. I will try to keep these updated on my website. (I guess it slipped my mind last week!)
  • Math: We are working more with numbers 0-5. On Wednesday we will take our test. Thursday will be the beginning of our new chapter, in which we will focus on position and patterns.
  • Religion: We will be taking some time to prepare for the field trip on Tuesday. We will continue to pray the rosary, and we will also talk about the Vatican Splendors. We need to talk about some of the history, as well as what behavior will be expected when we are visiting. We will continue to discuss how God shows us his love.
  • Health: During this upcoming week, we will take some time to discuss fire prevention.

Other Thoughts:

  • Our field trip is on Tuesday – we will be gone all day! Thank you for turning in your permission slips and money!
  • Each month, we will be choosing a Peacemaker of the Month. This person is someone who has done an excellent job throughout the month of being kind to others, showing respect to all, and following school rules. I will choose the person at the end of each month and announce it to the class. It was a very difficult decision because so many of the students have been doing such a wonderful job at school! For the month of September, Karragen Straub was our Peacemaker! She is always kind to her classmates, and is always very helpful. If someone spills their milk or crayons, she is there to pick them up! Congratulations Karragen!
  • Please remember that there is a two-hour late start on Wednesday! Students do not need to bring a snack.
  • Grandparents Day is on Friday. Please be sure to get those invitations out. Also, if your child wants to leave with their grandparents after the program, please send a note giving your permission.

Thank you so much! Have a fantastic weekend!

Sincerely,
Miss May
