Marathon Week

Next week is “Marathon Spirit Week.” Monday is PJ day, Tuesday is Dress Up Day, Wednesday is Wacky Wednesday, Thursday is Sports/Hero Day and Friday is school uniforms to show school spirit!

Marathon Day
All students will be kept after school on Friday for the marathon! It will begin at 3:30.

The students will gather into their celebration circles at 2:55 and then receive a snack and a turn to use the bathrooms before the marathon begins. We will gather outside at 3:20 for a short rally and blessing before we begin.

Marathon Help
If you can help the teachers during the walk and have not officially volunteered by signing up on the volunteer form that was by the school front entrance the first few weeks of school either send a note or call the school office. We need help from 3:00 to 3:20 in the classrooms with snacks and giving teachers a comfort break. The teachers need help during the walk 3:30 to 5:00. Supper will be served at 5:00. The awards will begin after everyone has been served. Help would also be appreciated with clean up. We hope to have everyone on their way home by 6:00 P.M. or sooner. Thanks so much!

Fairshare ObligationPlease recall that each family is asked to either raise or pay $280 for the marathon. Please remember to check with your workplace and see if they will match your $280. Marathon Money
Your $280 is due this coming Wednesday, Oct. 1 or sooner. If your money is not here on Wednesday you will be receiving a call from the marathon committee on Wednesday evening.

Marathon Supper
Enclosed in your folder is a sheet asking you how many from your family will be staying for supper. Please send this in tomorrow or Monday at the latest so that the shopping can be done for the supper. Thanks so much for your cooperation!

Marathon Pizza Ranch Fundraiser
Sincere thanks to all those that came and supported the Patrons Marathon fund raising event!

Twins
We are grateful to Janie Schwartz and her family for representing St. Anne’s at the Peacemaker Twins event on Wed. Sept. 24. Also thanks to Hunter Pfarr’s and Jayden Voss’ family and friends and Mrs. Adams and friend for supporting Janie and St. Anne’s at the game!

Grandparents’/Special Friends Day
Have you had your child/ren pass out or send the invitations to those special people for Friday, Oct. 10th? It will be a fun time! Let us know if you do not have someone to invite. We will be glad J to help you with that.

Cookbooks
Consider St. Anne’s cookbooks for Christmas gifts. We are down to our last box! This was a great project!

Learnia
The students in grades 3-5 will soon be tested in reading and math. The students will again be tested in the spring. This testing will demonstrate the growth the students achieved during the year. The testing is being coordinated by Miss Wilson and the teachers of the grades being tested. The teachers will let you know via the planners or a note as to when they are testing.

Lyceums
On Monday, Sept. 25, the students in grades 3-5 will be attending a lyceum at 10:30 in the high school gym. The lyceum will be a motivational speaker giving positive messages on character. St. Anne’s was invited by Rachel Pletzke the district band teacher.

On Wednesday, Oct. 1, the students in grades K-5 will be attending a lyceum at Park entitled Energizer Olson from 9:45 – 10:45. This lyceum was made available through a district grant asking for support on character development. It will focus on helping children develop character as they grow.

Cathedral & History Center
On Wednesday, Oct. 7 the students will be attending The Rosary Pilgrimage at the Cathedral in St. Paul to celebrate the Feast Of Our Lady of the Rosary. There will be over 2500 students from 17 Catholic Schools at this event. This event will begin about 9:30 and last until 11:00. From the Cathedral we will travel over to the History Center to have lunch and then view “Vatican Splendors.”

We are using an anonymous donation to help cover the cost of this trip, however, it will not cover both History Center admission and travel expenses. Therefore we will be asking you for a monetary amount that will be indicated on the permission slip. If this amount is a hardship for you please give me a call. Thank you!

We are planning on taking one chaperone each for grades K-2. We are taking one bus to help cut costs. Adult tickets are $17. If you would like to go and can drive your own vehicle and pay for your own ticket give me a call by Monday, Sept. 29 and I will check to see if I can get more tickets. The History Center recommends one chaperone for every 10 students.

Conferences
Fall conferences are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 13 from 3:20 to 6:40 and Tuesday, Oct. 14 from 3:20 to 5:00. Sign up begins Monday, Sept. 29th.

Scholastic Bookfair
Mrs. Blaha will be having the Bookfair during Grandparents/Special Friends Day and during conferences. Please make plans to stop by in the library. Consider purchasing a book for your child’s classroom.

Sweatshirt/Wintergear Orders
Orders and checks are due Tuesday, Sept. 30th.

Thanks so much for being up to date on your lunch and tuition accounts. Thanks too for taking care of your activities fees.
