Oct. 9, 2008

Grandparents’/Special Friends Day
Please remember that tomorrow afternoon has been dedicated to the “other special people” in our children’s lives. The theme is Oktoberfest and it begins at 1:00 in the school gym. Again if you do not have someone in the area that can come please call the office and we will find someone for your child.

Conferences
The teachers will be hosting conferences Monday, Oct. 13 and Tuesday, Oct. 14. If you have not signed up please stop in. Sign up is outside of the school office. Thank you!

Peer Mediation Training
Mrs. Grieves will be attending this training Monday, Oct. 13th at the Ney Center from 8:30 to 12:30 with the students that have volunteered or have been recommended with other chosen students from the school district. The training will be conducted by Jean Berg the district elementary school social worker.

Patrons Meeting

The October Patrons meeting will be Monday, Oct. 13 at 7 P.M. in the school cafeteria.

Scholastic Bookfair
Mrs. Blaha is hosting the fall book fair. Please make plans to stop in during our conference times.

MARS
This program, “Math and Reading Students,” coordinated by Mabel Schweiss, will begin next week. The program is manned by adult volunteers and gives support to students that may need extra help or to students that are accelerated. The teachers decide the work that is to be done and it is then carried out by these wonderful volunteers!

School Mass
Mrs. Adams and the grade 5 students will be assisting Father with the school mass liturgy on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Please remember that you are always welcome to join us at Mass. Mass will be at church unless we have inclement weather.

Help
Mrs. Blaha could use help packing up the book fair on Wednesday, Oct. 15. If you and your children could help out please give Mrs. Blaha a call. Many hands make light work! Thank you!

MEA Vacation
The students will not be having school on Wed. Oct. 15 – Oct. 17.

September Peacemakers

The following students showed exemplary “respect” leadership in their classroom during the month of September: Kindergarten = Karagen Straub, 1st grade = Timothy Kulzer, 2nd grade = , 3rd grade = Michael Spence, 4th grade = and 5th grade = . Congratulations to these students for helping to make our world a more respectful place.

October Trait
The trait that we are working on for October is “Building Peace.”

Pizza Ranch Marathon Fundraiser

We received a check from the Pizza Ranch for $95. and we also made $ 89.02 on tips for a grand total of $184.02! Sincere thanks to those that purchased!

Pumpkin Sales
We made $57 on pumpkin sales on the day of our marathon. Thanks to those that bought pumpkins! We have still have some available. If interested please make a donation and pick out what you would like. They will be available through Monday, Oct. 13.

Marathon Results
Please see sheet titled Marathon Awards that is enclosed. St. Anne’s is so blessed! We made the big goal! We have so many wonderful families and supporters! Thank you! You are awesome!

Pop Cans
Please remember that we appreciate your family saving aluminum cans for ours school. Please drop them off at the little red shed on the west end of the parking lot by the Parish Center garage and let the school office know that your family dropped them off. Thank you!

Labels for Learning
Please remember that we are now collecting “Our Family” UPC bar codes. This brand is available at Econo Foods in St. Peter and at grocery stores that carry the “Our Family” brand.

Campbell Soup Labels and Milk Caps
Anna Mae Screiber, parishioner, is our coordinator for these two projects. If you know and see Anne Mae tell her thanks or send a thank you note to the office and we will forward it on.

Scrip
Please see the enclosed sheet and find out who the top 10 profit makers are for our Scrip program! Again, if you need help to learn and find out more about Scrip, a huge fundraiser for St. Anne’s, please let the school office know. We will be happy to have someone explain it to you.

Accounts
Thanks once again for being up to date on your lunch and tuition accounts. Thanks too for taking care of your activities fees.

Above and Below the Line
The teachers and students have been discussing “above and below the line behavior.” They have also been discussing consequences for below the line behavior. Ask your child, “what is above and below the line behavior?” More information to come after MEA.
