Nov. 13, 2008

Patrons Meeting
The November meeting will be Monday, November 17 at 7 P.M. in the school library.

Mass
Mrs. Adams and the grade 5 students will be assisting Father with the mass on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 10:30 A.M. in the school gym.

Sister Rose Vu
Sister, a Good Shepherd nun, from Vietnam will be speaking to the students about mission on Friday, Nov. 21 at 10:30 in the school gym.

Marketing
Marketing season is afoot at St. Anne’s – we are looking for K-5 parents to share their excitement for St. Anne’s by participating in our marketing committee. If you would like more information please contact Lorie Streeter at streeterlorieann@aol.com. Our first marketing meeting will be on December 4th at 6:30 P.M. in the school library. You are welcome to attend!

Holiday Food Drive
Please remember that we are having our annual food drive for the holidays. The drop off is outside the school office. Proceeds will be going to the LeSueur Food Shelf. Encourage your child to earn the food/hygiene article by doing chores etc. around home.

Adopt a Family
If you would like to participate in the “Adopt A Family” Christmas project please see last week’s parent letter for a list of items. Items need to be sent to school by December 1st.

Bus Violations
We had only one bus violation during the month of October! Whoo-hoo! Students that rode the bus during October without a violation will be awarded a warm fuzzy!

Thanksgiving Dinner

Sincere thanks to our cooks and their helpers: Anya Asheim, Amy Lindgren, Tammy Ludwig, Deanna McDonald, Meg Skelly and Dorothy Woesthoff for serving the student body and staff a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner last Thursday!

Christmas Musical
Use your Thanksgiving holiday time to invite your family and friends to our Christmas musical, Once Upon A Christmas Light. It is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9th at 12:30 and 7:00.

Belgium Waffle Breakfast & Cookie Walk

Mark your calendars for our Belgium Waffle Breakfast and Cookie Walk. It is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 7.

Cookie Bakers Wanted

Do you like to bake? Then this is the volunteer project for you! Cookies are needed for the Dec. 7th Cookie Walk. Please contact Sue Hynes-Marquette – 507-665-3973 or Angie Wilmes – 507-560-2951 if you can help bake!

Two Hour Late
The teachers attended an in-service at Park Elementary from 7:30 to 8:30 to learn about changes and procedures for referrals for Special Education. At 8:30 they returned to St. Anne’s and discussed the article, Catholic Social Principles: Participation in Societal Activities, the Educator Development Series in The Catholic Teacher on Catholic Social Justice.

Cold Weather

Please remember to send your child with mittens, caps, boots, and snow pants for outdoor recess times. Please tuck in an extra pair of socks in their school bags too. Thank you!

Accounts
Your responsibility with your lunch and tuition accounts is greatly appreciated!

Catholic Gazette

A fall copy of the student newspaper, The Catholic Gazette, is enclosed in your folder. Sincere thanks to Ms. Wilson for her guidance and help to the students with their writing and to Mrs. Rasmusen for making the copies.

Computers
We have a few old MAC computers that are not being used due to the replacement by our “new” ones. If you would be interested in one for your home please send a note or call the school office.

Scrip Orders
Please be conscientious of the upcoming Scrip order dates that are enclosed to ensure that your holiday gift giving needs get here on time.
